1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site recognise your browser between page loads and, in some cases, between visits. Related technologies such as local storage and session storage work similarly — they store small pieces of data in your browser rather than sending a file, and we treat them the same way in this policy.

This policy covers cookies set on our marketing website at chatboxai.dev and on our product dashboard at app.chatboxai.dev (together, the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

Chatbox AI takes a minimal approach to cookies. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build cross-site tracking profiles. The cookies and local storage entries we do use fall into two categories:

• Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function — keeping you signed in to the dashboard, protecting your session, and remembering security settings. These cannot be switched off, because the Service will not work without them, and under applicable law they do not require consent.
• Functional / preference. Remember choices you make so we do not ask again on your next visit — for example, whether you dismissed a banner, your selected theme, or your last-used view in the dashboard. These improve convenience but are not required for the Service to work.

We do not currently set analytics or advertising cookies on chatboxai.dev or app.chatboxai.dev. If that changes — for example, if we add product analytics to better understand feature usage — we will update this policy, add a category below, and request your consent through a cookie banner before any non-essential cookie is set, where consent is legally required.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We do not embed third-party advertising or social-media widgets on chatboxai.dev, so in the ordinary course of browsing our website or dashboard, no third party sets cookies on your device through us. One exception applies:

• Razorpay (payments). When you subscribe to a paid plan, the checkout and payment step is handled by Razorpay, our payment processor. Razorpay's checkout may set its own cookies to process the transaction securely and to detect fraud. That processing is governed by Razorpay's own privacy and cookie practices, not by this policy, since Chatbox AI does not control or read those cookies.

If you follow a link from our site to WhatsApp, Meta, or any other external service, that destination site sets its own cookies under its own policy once you land there.

5. Managing Cookies

Because we only set strictly necessary and functional cookies, there is no separate consent toggle inside the Service for most of them — disabling the auth cookie, for example, would simply sign you out. You can still control cookies at the browser level:

• Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies from Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies (the exact path varies by browser).
• You can set your browser to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or ask for permission before a cookie is set.
• Clearing cookies for chatboxai.dev or app.chatboxai.dev will sign you out of the dashboard and reset any saved interface preferences; you will need to sign in again.
• Blocking strictly necessary cookies entirely will prevent the dashboard from working, as it relies on the session cookie to keep you authenticated.

If we introduce non-essential cookies such as product analytics in future, we will provide an in-product control to accept or decline them at that time.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves — for example, if we add a new analytics or payment integration that sets its own cookies. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where the change introduces a new non-essential cookie, we will seek your consent before it is set.
